Last Week for the Increased Delta Credit Card Offers — Earn 50,000 & Up to $500 Statement Credits

INSIDER SECRET: Delta doesn’t have an award chart, but there frequently are all sorts of advertised (and unadvertised) SkyMiles award sales.

Through August 15, 2019, there are these interesting increased Amex Delta credit card bonuses available:

These statement credits can are earned as a 50% rebate on eligible Delta purchases, which includes airfare.

The miles you earn with these Delta credit card offers can be super useful, recently there were round-trip award flights to London for only 22,00 miles. (Photo by Sven Hansche/Shutterstock)

Are These Offers Worth It?

These welcome bonuses are worth at least $600 to $800, once you include the high annual fee (not waived) on the Delta Platinum cards. That’s because you can redeem Delta miles for 1 cent each using Pay with Miles. But we’ve seen offers for 60,000 to 80,000 miles with statement credits of $50-$100 not that long ago and those extra Delta miles can be more valuable than the increased statement credits that are available with these new deals.

Delta also offers frequent Delta SkyMiles deals which can help you stretch the value of your miles further. For example, recently you could fly to Europe for as little as 20,000 SkyMiles round-trip in coach. A ticket like this could easily cost $500+, giving you a value of 2.5 cents per mile — much higher than the rate you’ll get by using Pay with Miles.

Another nice thing is that Delta miles never expire. It’s a nice feature that very few frequent-flyer programs offer.

The biggest downside to the Delta statement credits is you have to earn them within the first three months of having the card and they aren’t straight credits — you’ll only get 50% back up to the maximum credit. However, if you spent a lot of cash on Delta flights it shouldn’t be hard to earn the full credit.
