First Looks Friday: The Most Exciting Beauty Products to Hit Our Desks This Week

Welcome to First Looks Friday, a new weekly beauty series that will highlight the newest, coolest, must-see products that hit our desks this week. Even though we do our best to include and post about the latest and greatest in the world of beauty, we’re flooded with so many cool formulas that we’re physically unable to feature every single one within our scheduled lineup of stories. But now, we can change that! Consider this your one-stop-shop weekly beauty debriefing of everything cool happening in the product industry. Though we haven’t tested these products long-term, you’ll get a quick description of the labels that caught our eye and the formulas we can’t wait to stow in our bags and take home with us. Keep scrolling for this week’s beauty haul.

You already know and love Benefit’s icon-status shades like Hoola (the ultimate matte bronze) and Cookie (the prettiest golden-pearl highlight), but its new Cheeks Star Reunion Tour palette features both of the above and then some. Say hello to three new hues: Dallas, a rosy, bronze blush; Georgia, a golden peach blush; and Sugarbomb, a cheery split-blush with four different formulas.

Take a stroll through WWW HQ, and you’ll see Hum’s magical supplements on top of almost every single employee’s desk. We’re obsessed, and we couldn’t be more excited for the brand’s newest formula, Private Party. Developed as an all-encompassing approach to women’s wellness, it features actives and cultures that support both vaginal and urinary tract health.

We didn’t think it could get any damn cuter than a heart-shaped Cheeky Stamp Blendable Blush ($24), but then Kaja (a K-beauty brand co-developed with Sephora) outdid itself by coming up with a line of similarly shaped, featherlight lipsticks in six different shades. The formula is even infused with rose extract to keep your lips extra hydrated.

J.Hannah describes its collection of coveted nail polishes as carefully edited, high-quality formulas for the color-resistant. Each shade is inspired by an artist’s palette, earthen elements of nature, and the brand’s favorite muses. Every polish is nontoxic, cruelty-free, made in the U.S. Dune, “a perfect beige calling to mind windblown sand, desert quietude, and desolate earth,” is its newest debut.

Until now, Rouje Paris (which could quite possibly be the chicest beauty brand on the market right now) exclusively consisted of nail, cheek, and lip products. But now, say hello to your three newest eye fixtures—a mascara, liquid liner, and eyelash curler, which are inspired by brand founder Jeanne Damas’s natural approach to applying eye makeup. If you’re as obsessed with the French beauty aesthetic as we are, be excited. You can buy each product individually or all three as a set. We recommend the latter.

Sisley-Paris’s Black Rose collection is beloved by beauty editors, makeup artists, celebrities, the list goes on and on. And now, the brand is adding a sparkling new addition to target the delicate eye area: a luxurious, smoothing, and radiance-enhancing contour fluid featuring a concentration of emblematic active ingredients of the Black Rose collection like (of course) aqueous black rose, padina pavonica extract, vitamin E, red vine extract, caffeine, chlorella, and shea oil. I’ve been using it for a week now and have already noticed a huge difference in my shadowy under-eyes.

Carbon Theory is one of the most beloved (and affordable) skin systems in the UK, and now a selection of its breakout-busting elixirs are available on Ulta’s website. Featuring potent natural ingredients like charcoal and tea tree, the selection of best sellers we’re excited to try includes a cleansing bar, purifying tonic, moisturizer, exfoliating scrub, and last but not least, a mud mask.

If it’s glitter and shimmer you’re after, there’s simply no better brand to dip your toe (or whole entire face) into than Lemonhead.LA. The artist-approved, L.A.-based brand just sent us its newest debut: the Lemon.Aid Mixing Medium, a light lemon-scented multipurpose balm that rehydrates your Spacepaste, Spacejam, or Glowjam application; sculpts baby or brow hairs; or works as a glitter adhesive.

Also, please meet Prisms, a collection of nine glitter shapes and six artist glitter blends for anyone who freaks the fuck out over loose glitter (e.g., us).

Rose is having a huge moment right now within the fragrance industry, and this Parisian confection from Maison Francis Kurkdjian landed on our desks just in time for spring. Each bottle is infused with 250 freshly bloomed roses from Grasse, along with beautiful additions like violet, musk, orange, bergamot, magnolia, and cedarwood.

If you like to take your beauty supplements via gummy, you’re in for a strawberry-flavored treat. Not only are these delicious little gummies natural, vegan, and gluten-free, but they also have you covered with a digestion-easing blend of probiotics and prebiotics alongside your normal hair, skin, and nail fare like biotin and folic acid.

One can never have too many lipsticks or glosses (at least in our opinion), and Dior’s Addict line is one of the most coveted in the industry. So in very exciting news, the brand has debuted two new iterations—one lipstick and one gloss—just in time for spring. Meet Dior Addict Stellar Halo Shine, a stunning range of 25 lipsticks adorned with a pearlescent pigment star in the center to create a shiny highlight, and Dior Addict Stellar Gloss, which boasts 21 shades and the expert ingredients that have made both the Dior Addict glosses and balms iconic.

We’re big fans of Marc Jacobs Beauty here at WWW, and its new spring 2020 collection is to die for. Think glowing skin courtesy of bronzing coconut body sticks, a hydrating coconut-infused lip oil, a jumbo-size retexturizing gel crème moisturizer, and brand-new shades of its liquid-gel-formula eyeliner and Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette. Spring has sprung, and we are ready for the jump!

If you’ve ever wondered how leading ladies like Laura Dern, Olivia Wilde, and Zazie Beetz get their skin so good, True Botanicals is the common denominator. This brand-new mask helps to detoxify and purify congestion and clogged pores without stripping the skin with overly aggressive or drying ingredients. Thanks to key ingredients like glacial clay, plant-based squalane, and activated bamboo charcoal, the skin is left smooth, glowy, clear, and balanced.

Last fall, Secret debuted a new gentle deodorant enhanced with essential oil, and now it’s gone even further by launching an aluminum-, paraben-, talc-, alcohol-, and dye-free version. The scent is more natural and less artificially perfumy thanks to the essential oils, and according to the brand, we’ll still reap 24 hours of odor protection. Now, you just have to choose your scent: Lavender + Lemon, Rose + Geranium, or Orange + Cedar.

Kevyn Aucoin just renovated its Unforgettable lip collection, featuring 18 shades in cream, shine, and matte finishes and including several legacy shades alongside brand-new colors. Then, there’s the lip definer, a newly updated formula that still maintains the spirit of Kevyn’s famous original lip theory: matching your lip liner to your lip tone versus your lipstick shade.

In celebration of Beautycounter’s seventh anniversary (and its commitment to pioneering clean beauty and advocating for a safer beauty industry), the brand has launched three new limited-edition lipstick shades complete with stunning color, creamy texture, and seriously cute tubes. You can buy them separately at $34 a pop or buy the three-piece set for $75.
