Bella Hadid Wore Jeans With Summer’s Only Heel Trend

If you love wearing heels, 2020 has really not been your year. Once stay at home orders began in March, so did the end of wearing heels for awhile. Not so much for Bella Hadid, though. Hadid was out in NYC this week wearing an outfit that could be mistaken for a pre-quarantine one, aside from the face mask. Hadid wore jeans (remember those?), a button-down shirt with a few strategically-placed buttons buttoned, gold hoop earrings, and the only heel trend that actually kind of took off this year: high-heel flip-flops.

In the beginning of the year, there was so much anticipation for all the shoe trends in the pipeline, from chain-embellished heels to T-strap sandals to high heel loafers… but then we all just started wearing slippers and Birkenstocks. Although many heel trends with promising futures haven’t come to be this season, I’ve regularly spotted high-heel flip-flops as I scroll through my Instagram feed and on the feet of celebrities. My theories as to why this is are simple: People probably started buying them last year, so they already had them in their closets, they’re one of the most low-key shoe trends you can buy, many have walkable low heels, and you can find them at every price point (Hadid went with a $750 Alexander Wang pair). Keep scrolling to shop her chic look, along with some of my favorite heeled flip-flops.
