4 Jewelry Trends I’m Wearing at Home (and 4 I Put on Hiatus)

Now that we’ve all been spending our days indoors for awhile now, the initial no-makeup, no-jewelry, stay-in-pajamas-all-day mood has worn off and I’ve noticed that more and more of the people I follow on Instagram are yearning to dress up again, even if it’s just in their living room. As someone who has worked from home for years, I try my best to wear things I love even when staying home, and that includes jewelry

At home, I understandably keep my jewelry simple and save my, well, less simple pieces for outings. But since my outings now consist of just going to the grocery store and walking around the block, I’ve put some of my favorite jewelry trends on hiatus but am still wearing lightweight, unobtrusive pieces that make my sweats feel a little more special. Keep reading for the jewelry trends I’m wearing these days, and those I’m sadly taking a break from.

Hoop earrings are hardly a new trend, but they’re still a trend nonetheless. I wear them often when working from home, as they make me feel a little put together but not look like I’m trying too hard. Heavy statement earrings, on the other hand, don’t pass the at-home test.

Laura Lombardi makes my favorite hoops.

These are small, but substantial enough to be noticed.

Silver hoops are a nice change of pace.

These look so pretty on.

Bracelets tend to get in the way when I’m cooking, cleaning, and washing my hands a lot, so I’m skipping them for the foreseeable future. But there’s nothing wrong with wearing an anklet with your slippers or over your crew socks. Just try it.

Wow, I want this.

I love a pretty pearl anklet so much.

Just fancy enough.

Your ankle deserves this.

Maybe it’s just me but something about wearing a chunky chain necklace at home just feels like it’s a bit much. But all of the interesting pearl necklaces that are out now are a little more low-key and feel more appropriate.

Perfect for everyday wear.

Your Zoom meetings are about to get a lot cuter.

Great on its own or layered with other necklaces.

You can always count on Timeless Pearly to come up with a fresh take.

I love to wear lots of rings but like bracelets, they’re just not practical when you’re cooking and cleaning all the time. So for now, I’m just wearing my wedding and engagement ring. Personalized pieces, on the other hand, brighten my mood during these stressful times.

I can’t imagine I’ll ever want to stop wearing this.

I know I said I’m avoiding bracelets but this is one I’d never want to take off.

Another piece I’d literally never take off.

A timeless, lovely little charm to put wherever you please.

Next up, 8 jewelry trends that are officially out.
